User manual

1. Getting in

Registering, verifying your email and signing in.

Open the app's web address and choose Register. You need an email address you can reach and a password.

Verifying your email

  • Register, then type the code that arrives in your inbox.
  • The code is checked on the same screen; ask for a new one if it does not arrive.
  • Once the code is accepted you are taken straight into the app.

Your estate details

  • Fill in your full name, phone number, physical address and your ERF number.
  • If that ERF number is already held by someone else, say what you are to them: family, tenant, employee of that person, or that you have simply moved in.
  • The estate office checks these. If you said you have just moved in, your account is put on hold until the office has checked and released it.

Signing in later

  • Sign in with your email address and password, or with your Google account.
  • Forgot your password? Use the link on the sign-in screen to set a new one.

2. Finding your way around

The menu on a phone and on a computer.

The sections of the app are listed in a menu at the top of every page.

On a phone

  • The full list of sections does not fit across a phone screen, so the menu is the three dots at the top right of the page.
  • Tap the three dots to open the list, then tap the section you want.

On a computer

  • The full menu runs across the top of the page, with every section listed by name.
  • Click a section name to go straight to it.

3. Supplier directory

Finding a trusted supplier for the job you have.

The home page lists suppliers recommended by residents and approved by the estate. They are grouped into urgent call-outs, professional services, other services and niche shops.

  • Search by name, service or trade at the top of the page.
  • Open a supplier to see their contact details, working hours, after-hours number, areas served and whether they do emergency call-outs.
  • A community verified badge means residents have used the supplier and confirmed it.
  • Leave a star rating and a comment after you have used someone.
  • If you used a supplier, confirm it, so the next resident knows the details are current.

Suggesting a change

Use the suggest or report link on a listing to propose a new supplier, correct details, or report information that is out of date. The estate office reviews every suggestion.

Emergency numbers

The panel beside the page holds the estate's emergency numbers, and the push button. It is reachable from every page.

Before you can use the push button

The push button only works for residents who have signed the push button terms and conditions. Sign them from your profile, and the estate office must also have given you the push button right.

4. Departments and who do I contact

Estate, municipal and utility contacts, and what to do about a specific problem.

  • Departments lists every estate, municipal and utility contact with their phone numbers, emails and hours, including after-hours numbers.
  • Who do I contact? takes a problem such as a burst pipe or a street light and points you at the right department or the right kind of supplier.
  • Emergency numbers are listed separately at the top of that page.

5. Utilities and maintenance

Water and electricity interruptions, planned work and their history.

  • Current interruptions show what is off right now, with the affected area and the expected time back on.
  • Planned maintenance shows the work the estate or the municipality has scheduled, on a calendar.
  • History keeps the interruptions that have been resolved, so you can see how often something has happened.
  • Report an interruption to tell everyone what you are seeing, and add to a report that is already open.

If the estate office has given you the utilities right, you can also edit and resolve the notices on these pages.

6. Urgent issues

Problems that need attention now, and the anonymous box.

  • Post an urgent issue with a heading, the category and what is happening. It appears to everyone signed in.
  • You can edit the wording of an issue you posted.
  • The anonymous box sends a note straight to the build room, without your name on it.
  • When you are signed in, your account details and address are kept with the note for the estate office, without being shown to you while you write.

Posting an urgent issue needs the urgent issues right, which you ask for from your profile.

7. Area map and advisory

Marking what you see around the estate.

  • Markers can be a single point or a line traced along a road or route.
  • Categories: maintenance, security, hazard, idiot, police, fun, school and park.
  • Add up to two photos to a marker, and mark it resolved once it has been dealt with.
  • Use the map to see what other residents have marked, and what is still open.

Adding markers needs the map right. Ask for it from your profile; the estate office answers with a reason.

8. Market place

Services offered, items for sale and employment notices.

  • Three sections: services, items and employment (hiring or looking for work).
  • Post an advert with a title, description, price or rate and your contact details.
  • Every new advert is held for the estate office to approve before it appears.
  • Mark an advert sold when it is done. It stays on show with a SOLD banner for a week, then drops off by itself.
  • Adverts from neighbouring estates appear alongside ours, where sharing is switched on.

Advertising needs the market place right, which you ask for from your profile.

More sections on the way

Further categories will be added to the market place in the near future, such as aesthetic surgeons, spas and other specialist services. Each one will appear as its own section on this page, with its own adverts.

9. The emergency push button

Alerting the whole estate when something is wrong.

  • Sign the push button terms and conditions first, from your profile. You can sign in the box on screen, or print the page, sign it by hand and hand it to the estate office.
  • Once you have the right, the push button appears in the emergency numbers panel on every page.
  • Pressing it alerts everyone who is signed in at that moment, with your name, address and ERF number, and your live location.
  • Send a test alert from your profile to see how it looks. Test alerts are clearly marked so that nobody responds to them.
  • Everyone who sees an alert acknowledges it, so you can see help is on the way.

10. Your profile

Your details, your household, your rights and what you want to see.

  • Your details: name, phone number, address, ERF number and profile photo.
  • Household: add the spouse, children, family members or tenants living with you, and invite an adult to have their own login.
  • Appearance: pick the colour scheme you like. It is yours alone and follows you to any device you sign in on.
  • What I want to see: switch off the parts of the site you do not need, and choose whether neighbouring estate adverts are shown.
  • Rights: apply for each right you need, such as the map, advertising, the directory, the utilities, urgent issues and the push button. You see the estate office's answer and its reason here.
  • Signed terms: your copy of the push button terms and conditions.
  • Requests: tell the build room what you would like to see added to the app.
  • Leave the estate: if you move away, close your access from here.

11. For the estate office

Approving residents and answering rights applications.

  • Pending approvals: new residents waiting to be let in, with their ERF number and details.
  • Owners and residents: everyone registered, in ERF order, with what they are to the person already on the ERF, whether they are online, and the rights they hold or have asked for.
  • Open a resident to allow or refuse each right, and write the reason the resident will see.
  • Take a resident off hold once you have checked a move-in.
  • Approved ERF list: the ERF numbers already accounted for.
  • Signed terms: every push button terms and conditions on file, whether signed on screen or printed and handed in.

12. For administrators

Moderating the directory, the market place and the residents.

  • Suppliers: approve, edit or remove listings, and mark the estate-approved ones.
  • Reviews, confirmations and change requests: read what residents have sent in and answer it.
  • Reports: everything sent in, including the anonymous notes.
  • Market place: approve, reject or close adverts.
  • Planned maintenance: the estate's scheduled work.
  • Categories: the service categories suppliers are grouped under.
  • Owners, Tenants and Users: the residents, the people living at their addresses, and everyone with a login.
  • Map access and Signed terms: map applications and the terms on file.
  • Audit: a running record of what has been done in the app.

13. What administrators accept

Nothing a resident sends in goes live until an administrator accepts it.

Administrators hold the right to accept or refuse everything that comes into the app. Until it is accepted, it is not shown to residents.

  • New residents: a registration is accepted, or put on hold, before that person can use the app.
  • Suppliers: a suggested or newly listed supplier is accepted before it appears in the directory.
  • Market place adverts: every advert is approved before it shows on the market place.
  • Urgent issues and reports: what residents post is reviewed, and administrators can edit or remove it.
  • Reviews, confirmations and change requests: read and answered by an administrator.
  • Rights: every right a resident asks for, such as the map, advertising, utilities or the push button, is granted or refused by an administrator, with a reason the resident can read.
  • Signed terms: the push button terms and conditions a resident has signed are kept on file for the estate office.

14. If something is not right

Where to go when the app does not do what you expect.

Tell the estate office through Contact, or send a note through the anonymous box on the urgent issues page. For anything about your own login, use the estate office contact details on the Contact page.

User manual — how every part of the app works.

This directory is resident-recommended. "Community verified" means at least three residents have confirmed using a supplier — it does not imply estate approval, checked qualifications or guaranteed workmanship.
